Lightwater Valley - Future?

Right now any company buying that place with the intention of running it as a theme park would be a good outcome, honestly I'm surprised it's stayed open as long as it has.

Lightwater valley has been acquired by the mellor group. Personally I think this is fantastic news and should secure the future of the park. No doubt thrill rides will be coming back to the valley.

Shame they were out bid in the past by Brighton pier group, the fate of the ultimate would no doubt have been much different under their ownership.

Mellors are obviously good with travelling rides which might actually benefit the park for whom generators rather than actually being connected to the grid was the norm.

The big thing is if they get the village built. That will change the dynamics of the park overnight.

And for what it's worth, and it might be a travesty to say, maybe it's not a bad thing that the last lot got rid of the ultimate and raptor attack. Both were past their best and would prove enormously expensive to maintain, so this is the very definition of a fresh start.

Lightwater Valley will be (should be) mellors main focus now tbh after the past 2 owners basically drove it into the ground. 2026 the new Lightwater Valley
From a sheer business point of view I watched an interview with the mellors boss with OTT and he said the biggest attraction on buying fantasy island was that it was run down and well below it's true value, and this resonates from the lightwater valley purchase.

I don't actually think we have ever really seen the true potential realised of the park with the ultimate and the death on the twister breaking the finances of the park for years.

It actually reminds me a bit of Sunderland in the premier league - invest properly and you could be rewarded ten times over. The overheads are likely to be comparatively smally too, so the scope is massive.

Tbh the park has been in need of a new “major” attraction for years tbh. One what they can call their own, but wouldn’t mind travelling rides for the time being to help the park get back on its feet.

If their record at Fantasy Island is anything to go by, I think Mellors could bring some of their travelling stock to the park, which would probably be some of the most impressive stuff to grace Lightwater in a few years, to be fair.

I wouldn’t expect any miracles in terms of massive new ride investment, again based on their track record at Fantasy Island, but I feel they could be a more positive owner for the park than the last couple, which is something at least!

There's got to be a better than evens chance they will send the rapids that are currently at fantasy island there as it's been there before and would be a decent transition between young audiences and a more thrill dealing one. It was successful when there previously.

Spinning Racer is back in the UK, maybe they’ll send that with the rapids? Would be a great start if so. It’s a wonder mellors haven’t announced it on their socials
