Lightwater Valley - Future?

Hmm seems odd unless the park has infact been sold already? On the post it mentions slide complex and ‘major coaster’ I know a small park that has just closed with a couple of ‘slide complex’s’ And coasters, could we be seeing some old ride from Oakwood turn up here? As for coasters I’m sure I’ve seen treetops coaster is been refurbished somewhere in the uk, sure lwv would count that as a major coaster these days.
I really hope Aspro hasn’t purchased it they are worse then the previous 2 owners imo

Treetops is basically the same ride as the ladybird so I couldn't see that. Tbf it was better than it had any right to be though.

Just can't see the random post being true.

Was posted earlier on today on facebook group about lightwater valley

Would be good to have a decent waterpark in the vicinity since Waterworld in York got demolished a long time ago. I'm skeptical though since these things are notorious for being closed because of running costs.

Just watched a YouTube documentary on wet and wild. It's the cost of heating them and keeping them clean that's the killer.

I recognise the unlikelihood of this ever materialising but I wonder what the Mancey family could potentially do with the place. Obviously their only current property is Paultons but clearly the investment strategy they've been employing in the past 10-15 years has been working for them and I reckon it'd work pretty well to get LWV back off the ground also - but would be a massive risk to undertake if they ever fancied expanding their portfolio given the uncertain future of Lightwater. In an ideal world I think they genuinely could revive the place but again, veeeeeeery unlikely

This is not a bad shout, Paultons only has 2-3 areas left for development and either need to buy nearby land to expand or a new property altogether.

Although £3 Million is within their price range it’s a long way from Paultons. The family currently lives on site, they live and breathe their park, hands on and there every day. Would be hard to imagine them managing from afar.

I reckon it’ll be an operator located in the north or an internationally.

Brighton Pier is now also up for sale so I guess the company is in dire straits:
Interesting, The Ultimate must be haunting them now 🤣

Mellors or the people who bought pleasurewood. If the latter, it would be the second time the park has been bedfellows for a spell.
Only issue with Lightwater is that it needs serious investment tbh I don’t think the company what bought Pleasurewood Hills could do it. Could be wrong though wouldn’t complain if so

Ohh, I could buy this out so I can replace Turbo with a Gerstlauer Eurofighter 😆

In all seriousness, it is a shame the company and it's operations is up for sale and I'm hoping a buyer will put in the right investment irrespective of my opinions of Turbo

I remember people thinking that Brighton pier group would make a good thing for LWV, but the whole sector has been unbalanced by a lack of cheap labour, and this alone is probably the reason the lease is £3m. Can't help but think they have been their own worst enemies with some of the choices though.

I was up for them turning the place round tbh they sounded promising at the start when they took over. Certainly some shocking decisions especially removing eagles claw and replacing it with something nackered. The rocket roller coaster was shocking too only lasted a few months (never operated again after August) and the season just gone is the worst season I’ve seen on the park tbh

My customer on the palace pier has said it has been sold and he said he thinks it was Mellors who bought
