Europa Park | Euro-Mir replacement | 2028

I wonder how many people will love this ride all of the sudden, now as the closure is announced.

Good move that they still intend to keep the towers, they are certainly iconic.

The only thing I liked about it was that slow spiral lift with the 90s techno soundtrack blasting on full volume. Hopefully there's a way to incorporate something similar into the new coaster. The actual coaster is rough as pants and the layout is pretty unimaginative, so I won't miss it one bit. A clear product of its time, when spinning cars were still a big novelty.

I've always liked it 🥲
Same. I've never understood the apparent dislike some for it. I thought it was a fairly well-loved attraction until fairly recently when a lot of the "good riddance" type posts caught me off guard. Let's hope the replacement is a worthy successor - and that they keep the music.

In this interview Thomas Mack states that an exact date has not yet been announced as planning continues however the coaster will still be available until at least November 2026. He also said fans will not be disappointed as they will try to combine the old and new in a way.

Wonder if this will take less than 9 months like the Austria rebuild took

Yeah, was never a fan of Euro-mir. That's not to say it wasn't funny as hell, or had some character. Frankly the best coaster in the park to get a face lift.

More updates from Herr Roland Mack
Hmmm the replacement will be a new family rollercoaster................................
So I am sure it will be a new spinning coaster because Europa Park already has all other Mack family coasters in their lineup.
But will this new spinner be a free spinning model or a controlled spinning one, like the original?

Europa Park has a long history of Mack prototypes, I'm hoping for a new model, maybe Mack's version of the sort of family coaster that Gerstlauer and Intamin are rolling out so so successfully (with multiple launches, switch tracks, spikes etc).

Planning documents have been filed with Rust which give an indication of how the new area will look.
Once EuroMir is completely demolished 5 new towers will be erected, unlike before however these will be spread out, creating an open square between them. The towers will all serve a function as well as being coaster supports.

The planning document states:

”Construction of a new roller coaster with station building, elevator and maintenance hall
5 towers incl. gastronomy tower, exhibition building, shop, 2nd attraction and a medical station”

Unknown whether the second attraction will simply be a flat ride in the tower’s base or an actual tower ride of some sort.

Additionally mention of the new coaster featuring an elevator is intriguing…

Very interesting. Is the elevator confirmed to be part of the actual coaster though? I just assumed it was for accessibility, and the platform might be elevated?
