Europa Park | Euro-Mir replacement | 2028

Perhaps controversially, I can't say I'll miss Euro Mir when it goes.

A lot of people seem to love it, but I just remember it being really rough and not having an overly interesting layout. It was definitely Europa Park's weakest coaster when I went in 2022, in my opinion.

If 2026 is its last year, I think that would be a good thing myself.

The original one will go. But what will we get in return? Will it just be a full retrack, maybe with changes in the spinning, getting rid of the controlled spinning.
Or will we get one with a different layout?

It was already confirmed in an interview that the layout will be changed. But if I recall correctly, the towers will stay.

I'm kind of mixed on Euro-Mir, but it certainly is a unique coaster. I hope they don't just retrack, as the layout is pretty flawed in my opinion. The slow turns around the towers for example are a bit daft. I also feel everything besides the final helix is pretty forgettable. I hope a elevator lift/faster spiral lift hill to make that 4 minute dance rave a little less obnoxious. Maybe remix the current music though as it's so damn good!

If there is some kind of change on the cards, then I really hope EP would keep the music as like MackMan said, it is so good and I would leave it as it is! 😀

The video game announcement has been removed with the latest patch.

Followed by a dementi through social media:

Dear @epfriends_official community,
this banner was an Easter egg added by the game developer without our knowledge. It was integrated to decorate an empty area and had no further meaning. To avoid misunderstandings, it has already been removed from the game.
As already communicated, the Euro-Mir roller coaster is set to be worked on in the medium term. We are currently in a very early planning stage. We will publish further details in due course on our official channels.”

It is now being reported that Euro Mir is being removed completely, with no retrack planned. A new roller coaster will be coming in 2028, and Russia is being rethemed to space: https://bnn.de/nachrichten/baden-wu...-geht-ins-all-weltraum-bekommt-themen-bereich

I think this is for the best myself. For me, Euro Mir was easily Europa’s weakest coaster when I visited back in 2022, so I won’t be particularly sad to see it go, and with how good some of Mack’s recent stuff has been, I have faith that whatever replaces Euro Mir will be brilliant!

This is so exciting! Praying for the ultimate take on MACK's Xtreme Spinner!
The site is relatively big, especially if they decide to utilise the entire Russia area, for both the attraction and the Space-Themed area.

For clarification Russia is not being retimed completely. They are keeping the historic Russian street and retheming the rest, so the area is just shrinking in size. The rest of the space (including potentially some backstage space if rumours of moving some of the staff facilities there are to be believed) will become a Space Exploration themed area, in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA).

The area will feature more attractions than just the new Euromir replacement coaster Roland also said, as well as that the coaster will be for the whole family. Given the recent Voltron caters for the thrill seekers.

Personally this is the best way forwards imo, EuroMir desperately needed thrown in the bin, it would be a shame as Roland says to let modern politics dictate their plans and remove the Russian area completely given the country has a long history beyond the current regime. However by shrinking the area and having the new coaster be part of a new area and theme they don't have to awkwardly promote a new Russian themed headliner attraction anytime soon.

I'm really excited for what the future holds for that plot! I enjoyed Euro-Mir, but more by merit of it being funny than it actually being good...

I'm slightly worried about what this means for world class dark ride, BENCH, but time will tell I guess...

This post is purely speculative:

There is some work going on in the plot marked in red on this image, a fair bit behind Euro-Mir.
This could just be more expansion to the admistration, but might also be a replacement for the buildings closer to the coaster.
Directly adjacent to it, are two narrow buildings which house e.g. the first aid. Those could be moved elsewhere, expcet for first aid none of them has to be as close to the park. Next to them are 2 more buildings which could also be removed to make room for quite a expansion to the area.

If the park were to utilise that space for the new ride, it would likely safe our beloved Bench (which still needs some brighter LEDs in the last scene, I regained vision after 30 seconds, that is way too short!).

However, what makes me doubt this, is the weird obsession of the Park to slap new administrative buildings into the park itself, instead of areas outside of it. Additionaly, when I last saw the construction site, it was just beginning to form, so they could build anything beween a new bike rack and a skyscraper.
To make matters worse, it was said that the Russian area would be shrunken, implying that either some buildings or bench need to go.

But this might also be related to the Euro-Mir replacement not having a russian theme (French Guyana maybe? That's were the ESA does their rocket launches), which by itself removes a bit of the Russian area.
Euro-Mir itself is about 3,000m², adding the adjascent buildings brings that number up to 4,000m². If some or all of the buildings next to it were to be demolished, the total area could be brought up to a 9,000m². For comparison: Klugheim (minus the large cattle pen) is about 7,000m².

So, there a some opportunities for the park, but it all depends how much they are willing to demolish/relocate. They might just build the new Coaster Tiki Waka style above and next to the existing area, maybe even sacrifice bench in the process.

Personally, I'd love to see that section expanded, this is the only space left in the park that's not used for Traumatica.

I never knew Space was part of Europe. That's cool.

I'll actually be sad to see Euro Mir bite the dust. Especially as when doing a tour we were told by Mack the plan was to retrack it, but I guess plans change and I understand every ride has its time.

Nor is Africa or Minimoys Kingdom but it’s there!

Since the death of Ulrich Damrau (designer of the themed lands) the park has been less rigid with the original Europe concept.

The Europe-theme wasn't part of the original park either. The Italiean themed area was the first one, opening in 1982, 7 years after the park. And to be fair, the ESA is a real thing, so it is reasonable to argue that space travel is also part of Europe.
