On a day predicted by the park to be quiet, I visited for the first time. I will admit I was not feeling my best, but at rope drop proceeded to Untamed for the first ride of the day. Got on the first train (full) and waited, and waited, and waited...
After 10 minutes, the queue line growing, we finally left the station. Bizarre
The rest of the day followed in a somewhat familiar fashion. Splash Battle and Blast were down for the whole day. Lost Gravity was not running at the start then was, then wasn't, was etc..
El Rio Grande seemed to be having the same problems as Lost Gravity and when it did open about 2pm, people flocked over and it went down again.
Crazy River was fun, but not especially memorable, had a ride around the gardens which was very pleasant and enjoyed a great view from the big Ferris wheel. Had fun crossing the pond via the rope tow which is not mentioned on the web pages. Disappointed by the RMC raptor YoY Chill - never have I had to use a rolling carpet to board/exit a coaster with restraints as far as I can remember; Goliath and Untamed saved the day with regard to rides.
But I will not return - specific coaster cred reviews I have posted. But it was the park itself. The whole experience felt tired and 'on its last legs'. I'm sorry if that is harsh, but the 'theming' felt like all the left over pots of paint and bits/panels from an old movie set had just been plastered everywhere. Utterly unconvincing and frankly a bit weird. (Apart from Xpress: Station 13 queue line)
Best bits of the day might be the very nice colleague serving us a cold drink at the sit down bar near the entrance and the quieter crowd levels on a mid-week visit.
As to the app - frankly useless. Where were the queue times?! When Guest Services showed me the 'hidden' link in the app, it took me to an external web page...
The only time the app helped a little was finding YoY. Who designed such a ridiculous one route path to get to the attraction, all the way from Goliath, instead of from the other side near Condor for example? Should I have gone to ToverLand instead?
