I don’t know if you’re planning on doing a trip report from Florida @Rob Coasters, but I’m very intrigued by a couple of your placements and was wondering about them. So if you don’t mind me asking:
  1. How come there are three spots between the green and yellow sides of Stardust Racers? Aren’t they effectively the same layout, for all intents and purposes?
  2. How come Kumba ranks so highly, and all the way above Iron Gwazi? I remember it being a great classic B&M for sure, and probably my favourite of the 4 sit-down/floorless B&M loopers of that style I’ve done (with the order going Kumba, Kraken, Hulk, Dragon Khan, with Kumba/Kraken sitting at the higher end of an 8/10, Hulk sitting around a 7/10 and Khan sitting at around a 6/10), but certainly not at the level of some of Florida’s finest for me.
  3. How come Mine Blower enters the fold of your top 25? I remember it being very good as well, but I last did it almost 7 years ago when it was very, very new and its general reception seems to have plummeted in recent years.
It is always interesting to hear the perspectives of a new visitor to Florida, though, as someone who’s been my fair share of times. I’m glad to hear you loved VelociCoaster (that thing is immense, and I think it’s probably still my #1!), and I’m also glad to see Mako and Iron Gwazi enter the top 25 (two other awesome rides that I absolutely loved)! Not that it wouldn’t be fine if you didn’t of course (we all have different tastes), but I love that you liked them as much as I do!

0. That's the intention, I've been playing catch-up after taking a year off from writing stuff. Going in order and have a long ways to go, but eventually.

1. My rides on green had no audio, and to me the audio affected the ride A LOT to me. Yellow was fully functional. Other than that they're essentially the same ride. Green, without a doubt, would have taken the #2 spot had audio been working.

2. For me, Iron Gwazi has no idea what it's doing for most of the layout. A fairly important factor in a layout for me is flow (does it die halfway through the layout, does every element have purpose, do the elements progress smoothly into each other, does the ride have defined moments etc.); Iron Gwazi felt very all over the place, not really knowing what to do next or what it's done already. Gwazi is great, but I don't think it's fully deserving of its "best in the world" status. It has a few standout moments (the death roll, while not too whippy, has you floating out of your seat for the entire time), the first drop and also the outerbank thingy after it, shoutout to the *entry* into the wave turn over the station too, but that's really it. The stall is fun if a little brief, and everything after and in between is a little more than "there". The ending is floppy, sudden, and out of place.
At the very least, it's what Zadra should've been. it's what people who haven't ridden Zadra imagine how Zadra rides.

Kumba is looping coaster layout *perfection*, where every single moment of the ride has a defining purpose to it, and a solid reason to be there. B&M perfected the multi-looper layout on their first try, then never did that ever again (though I imagine they must've gotten pretty close with Dragon Khan but who knows I haven't been on that). It's loud, you can hit grass, every single element hits without a single dud moment to be seen everywhere. It's a ride that invokes far more emotion in me than Gwazi ever did. Gwazi is just "really good". Kumba has that extra special charm to it.

I hope this makes sense.

3. The main things are the roughness not bothering me in the slightest (in fact, one of my Orlando resident friends said that was the best ride they'd ever had on it) and the breakneck-fast pacing.

1. Falcon's Flight
2. Iron Gwazi
3. Velocicoaster
4. Zadra
5. Hyperia
6. Ride to Happiness
7. Mako
8. Stardust Racers (both equal)
10. Taiga

11. Taron
12. Toutatis
13. Kondaa
14. Iron Rattler (Qiddiya)
15. Untamed
16: Hyperion
17. Lech Coaster
18. Hagrid's

First top 10 I've really ever done. If there is a coaster that you think is missing, it's probably because I've not ridden it.

1. Millenium Force
2. Guardians of The Galaxy
3. Maverick
4. Twisted Timbers
5. Steel Vengeance
6. Alpen Fury
7. Top Thrill 2
8. Pantherian
9. The Voyage
10. Mystic Timbers

Missed the cut- Skyrush, Leviathan, B&Ms, Anything at Six Flags Great Adventure

Haven't updated my top 10 in a while and have a few changes from 2025. New for 2025 in bold.

1) Toutatis
2) Untamed
3) Kondaa
4) Shambala
5) Hyperia
6) Ride to Happiness
7) Taron
8) Balder
9) Helix

10) Nemesis

Kondaa used to be my number one, with Toutatis in second place. After riding both again in October I decided I prefer Toutatis overall. From the moment I got on it in 24 I was addicted to it, I’ll never get bored of that swing launch. I also love its more aggressive airtime.

  1. Eejanika - Fuji Q Highland - My new number 1. This ride takes the whole X2 formula and refines it. This is a much smoother and more aggressive ride than X2 is. The only real downside is the ride closes early when its crowded (which it definitely was crowded when I was there.
  2. Phoenix - Knoebels
  3. Skyrush - Hersheypark
  4. Pantherian (Intimidator 305) - Kings Dominion
  5. Fury 325 - Carowinds
  6. X2 - Six Flags Magic Mountain
  7. Arie Force One - Fun Spot Atlanta
  8. Steel Vengeance - Cedar Point
  9. Twisted Timbers - Kings Dominion
  10. The Ride to Happiness - Plopsaland de Panne
  11. El Toro - Six Flags Great Adventure
  12. Iron Gwazi - Busch Gardens Tampa
  13. Phantom's Revenge - Kennywood
  14. Twisted Colossus - Six Flags Magic Mountain
  15. Lightning Rod - Dollywood
  16. Outlaw Run - Silver Dollar City
  17. Superman the Ride - Six Flags New England
  18. Velocicoaster - Islands of Adventure
  19. Maverick - Cedar Point
  20. Hyperia - Thorpe Park
  21. Stardust Racers (Green) - Epic Universe
  22. Stardust Racers (Yellow) - Epic Universe
  23. Time Traveler - Silver Dollar City
  24. Fujiyama - Fuji Q Highland - Essentially a steel version of Voyage. This ride is insanely long, surprisingly forceful, and is incredibly janky in all the best ways. I just wish the view of Mt. Fuji wasn't obscured by clouds for most of my visit.
  25. The Voyage - Holiday World

Figured I'd throw mine on here as well. New to the hobby for over a year, so this is a somewhat stereotypical list but who cares, they're my faves lol.

Realized I never reported out how TT2 shook out in rankings last year, and can check back in now that we have multi-week operations!

1 Steel Vengeance
2 Voyage
3 VelociCoaster
4 Iron Gwazi
5 ArieForce One
6 Skyrush
7 Maverick
8 El Toro
9 X2
10 Helix
11 Outlaw Run
12 Storm Chaser
13 Fury 325
14 Wildcat's Revenge
15 Pantherian
16 Formula Rossa
17 Ravine Flyer II
18 Phoenix
19 Millennium Force
20 Top Thrill 2
21 Top Thrill Dragster
22 Twisted Timbers
23 Flying Aces
24 Storm Runner
25 Tatsu

In short, it is better than the original TTD, in having a more complete ride experience. What we lose by way of the best launch in the history of roller coasterdom (fight me), we gain:

  1. A longer ride experience
  2. A MASSIVE back spike stall
  3. Sustained high-speeds
She's a worthy replacement, and we're grateful to have her standing.
Alright... tagging in a year later with some new movement and additions coming off of Orlando travels:

1 Steel Vengeance
2 Voyage
3 VelociCoaster
4 Iron Gwazi
5 ArieForce One
6 Skyrush
7 Maverick
8 El Toro
9 X2
10 Helix
11 Stardust Racers
12 Wildcat's Revenge
13 Storm Chaser
14 Fury 325
15 Outlaw Run
16 Pantherian
17 Formula Rossa
18 Ravine Flyer II
19 Phoenix
20 Guardians of the Galaxy:Cosmic Rewind
21 Millennium Force
22 Top Thrill 2
23 Top Thrill Dragster
24 Flying Aces
25 Siren's Curse

Also had some movement in the middle teens of RMC offerings; honestly overdue for a ride on Outlaw Run and others to re-feel how they genuinely ride.

For the new additions:
  • Stardust Racers - I definitely came in on the hype of "top 10" material, but didn't feel as great an impression as others. Not a bad thing, but honestly expected more of the launch, transitions, etc. That being said - solid coaster design, with great element flow and interplay between the trains. Not a top 10 coaster (Helix still just edges it for me), but easy top 25 material!
  • Guardians Cosmic Rewind - this one I was greatly surprised by! Truly a Spinning Space Mountain, the internal effects and projection design really left an imprint. Has snuck it's way up the rankings for me.

I feel like I am the only person who didn't love Cosmic Rewind. I don't know if it was because it was a super hot day at Epcot and I was just physically drained from a long week, or maybe because I haven't seen the films, but I just didn't find it amazing. The effort they put into the theme is obviously stellar though, but the theme may have been lost on me from not knowing anything about the movies. With that said, it was definitely a fantastic and much needed addition to the park.

Ironically, I feel the same on Stardust - rode it on the second-to-last day of trip, and think I was also exhausted/not able to fully take in the ride.

Guess we need to revisit together for a proper re-evaluation? <3

I've spent the first few weeks of May travelling around the UK for the first time in more than a decade. I spent the first few days visting some distant relatives in Coventry and mostly stayed outside of parks bar from a couple of tiny +1s. For the second part of the trip, I met up with @CookieCoasters and @ThomVD for a trip around most of the major parks in the UK, making return visits to Alton Towers, Pleasure Beach Blackpool and Thorpe Park and visiting Drayton Manor, Legoland Windsor, Paultons Park and Chessington for the first time.

As most of the real good UK stuff is new since 2014, there have been a fair few additions to my top 50.

Hyperia is an absolutely bonkers ride with the craziest first drop I've ever experienced. I honestly had a feeling that I was going to fly out there. This element is followed by the sublime outward banked airtime hill that offers plenty of ejector and keeps on banking until you're upside down and over. Then the good stuff continues into the stalled dive loop, which is excellent as well. But sadly that's more or less it, as it continues into some rather harsh brakes (should've been a splashdown, but that's gone), a decent airtime hil and a full on stop. So yeah, the ride does what it does brilliantly, but it's really just half a coaster, so I can't warrant putting it any higher than 8th.

Icon - struggled to rank this. The rides on the normal seats were great and it was getting considerably faster as the day went on, though I did find the final part to be somewhat sluggish. The one ride I had in the spinning back car was a whole different gravy, though. The first half felt more extreme and far more disorienting, while the sluggish final part ended up being perfect for the off balance car to induce some intense spinning. Was thinking that the spinning back car would put this close to iSpeed, while the regular ride was closer to Abyssus, while the sum of the two puts it bang in the middle.

Wicker Man was a neat surprise. You don't really hear people rave about it, though it was really delivering on both days we were in the park. It's neatly packed with some pops of airtime and swift directional changes, strong enough that it induced some bruising on my hips (which was in part also a consequence of having left my phone a bit awkwardly in my trousers.

Nemesis Reborn - perhaps a bit controversial to put this only as my second favorite in the park, but while it does everything perfectly, I just don't think there's much about B&M Inverts to make them stand out from the rest of the coasters for me anymore. The unorthodox beginning and a whippy corkscrew that follows are its distinguishing features from the rest of the B&M Inverts, along with its low-to-ground terrain hugging layout. But the rest of the ride didn't really do that much for me and I felt it was mostly going through the motions rather than really biting towards the end.

Mandrill Mayhem - Took me a few goes to really get into this one, but while it has a fairly simple, almost oval layout, it's nevertheless a very fun coaster, especially in the front row and the backwards facing back row. We ended up riding this one 7 times during the course of the day and I think I was just enjoying it more and more.

There's also a couple of additions from 2025 in here. Last year was kinda slow and the only major new coaster I've done were the Austrian duo of Wiener Looping and Helios. While I agree with most that Helios is the superior attraction overall, I thought that Wiener Looping's elements had more of a punch to them and were thus more memorable. In particular, I really enjoyed the first drop, airtime hill that follows and the extended hangtime in the Finnish Loop. Helios on the other hand has better pacing and some really nice themeing inclusing onboard audio that really go above and beyond of what you would expect from a park like Fantasiana. Having visited the park for the first time in June 2024 (to ride Wild Train before that was gone), it was insane to see just how much almost half the park changed by my July 2025 visit. They really did a fantastic job with it.

And yeah, that's it for a short while, though since I'm dipping my toes into Scandi a bit more over the coming weeks, expect another update in about a month's time.
