Tokyo DisneySea teasing major overhaul to Port Discovery; Aquatopia closing on September 14th, 2026

Those are quite radical changes indeed. I sure hope they give it some thought, especially the changes to Adventureland might even be more controversial than what's about to happen at Magic Kingdom.

Not liking the look of the Disneyland changes. That left side of the park is arguably the best part of the park. If they're going to completely re-do an area, they should make it Tomorrowland and/or Fantasyland instead.

The DisneySea concept seems odd. Why change the Port Discovery area so drastically when A) there's nothing wrong with it; and B) there's a perfectly good expansion plot literally a few metres away in that corner of the park?

It'll be sad to see Aquatopia go, it's such a quirky little ride (and a nice way to cool down when it's hot). I was reading that the OLC has their shareholder meeting within the next week so hopefully we'll get more information on what could be replacing it soon.

Yeah, I feel the same - it's definitely going to be a bit sad to see it leave, as it's really unique and unusual. Every time I've been to DisneySea I've made the time to stop by it, and have enjoyed it a lot. Let's wait and see what the replacement will be!

Aquatopia was such an iconic visual element of DisneySea. ☹️

I'm sure the replacement will have a solid budget, but I have low faith that today's Imagineering can creatively match the original park's quality. They didn't quite manage it with Fantasy Springs, though at least that didn't replace anything.

We've been to Fantasy Springs a couple of times now and I was really impressed with the area and the restaurants - the rides aren't great (although it's by far the best version of Frozen and having 4 rides in a new area feels very generous by Disney standards) but the area itself is beautiful and really interesting to walk around. To me it's better than the Sinbad or Little Mermaid areas in the park and about on a par with the Indiana Jones stuff.

I will be really sad to see Aquatopia go, it was always one of my favourite rides there - super short queues, really fun little rides and a bit unpredictable - looked amazing too and was so different from things at other parks.

It's a shame they can't move it to another area of the park like the outside part of the Little Mermaid area, or even put it in the Disneyland park. You'd think with trackless rides this would be a little easier?
