Small News From The Theme Park Industry

New RAP policy at Drayton Manor is causing 'outrage' amongst the most entitled enthusiasts.
Frankly the RAP system at Drayton has always been abused to a ridiculous level and was out of hand, I think this is a much better solution and fairer to all guests and staff on the park

Maurer is at it again with two new Spike coasters - the Spike Train and the Spike Tandem. I'm not going into the details, but you can read all about them here.

Double post Yay! The Yanky Wave Twister, manufactured by Ride Engineers Switzerland, at Adventureland in Farmingdale on Long Island, New York, will remain down for the foreseeable future. The park cannot determine what caused the ride to halt mid-run, stranding passengers for hours while they waited to be evacuated. Source

A heat wave is currently making its way through northern France, causing major issues at the parks. With temperatures reaching 39 degrees celsius, many of Disneyland Paris’s outdoor attractions shut down around 1:30 P.M today and remained closed until past seven in the evening. With the heat expected to last for the rest of the week, the resort has decided to close down certain food outlets for the safety of their staff, and outdoor entertainment such as parades will not feature costumed characters for the time being.

Meanwhile, Parc Saint Paul has decided to close its gates until Friday at minimum due to guest safety. The park already closed a few food outlets over the weekend as the heat rolled in, and now the park has made the call to not operate at all in the hopes that cooler weather rolls in by Saturday.

I feel like going through the cost and effort of retracking a damn standard layout Maurer spinner is a bit silly, it'd seem like a better return on investment to try to get Maurer to modify it somehow to allow for multi-car trains (if Maurer couldn't just put linkages between three cars and call it a day) or invest in a completely refurbished Crush's coaster with another higher capacity system from Mack or whoever. Have those guests in the park spending their cash instead of queuing for this thing.

It's not the only weirdly low capacity ride at Disney Paris tbf I guess.

I honestly think Crush's Coaster should be replaced entirely. The low capacity is a constant frustration and the experience itself isn't especially good.

Meanwhile, Space Mountain next door hasn't had any re-tracking since 1994 and desperately needs a theming upgrade.

The heat wave has made it to the Netherlands and now parks like Walibi Holland and Drievliet have announced they’re remaining shut tomorrow.
