Six Flags Over Texas | Tormenta | B&M Dive Coaster | 2026

Apparently, trains were spotted in the maintenance building a couple of days ago. I couldn't find any photographs in my search, but I do know that JB thrills posted some on youtube. If the trains are there, we are one step closer to testing.

According to someone on JB thrills, someone mentioned that it will open up early June, mainly before June 12th, since that is when Shoreline pier is set to open.
"We are panning to open around June 12th. For people setting calendars, we made sure it is after Tormenta."
You can reply the real comment, since I am quoting it from memory.
EDIT: I have a good idea of whet they could be doing: They could be testing rn, but in the night, when almost everyone in the area is asleep. It is the coldest times in Texas, so it would make sense that they would do it in secret, to make sure everything runs properly.

Okay, despite not being fully Tormenta related, but I have a few questions with the park.
1. When will the new Spanish restaurant open?
2. When do you guys think Tormenta will begin testing?
2. Why is Shockwave still closed? They should have any parts they need for it by now.

That puppy is hauling through the vertical loops! Still trying to fathom how this is a bigger, much bigger, B&M Dive Machine - but understand there could be some elements here that benefit from higher speed, drawn out forces.

To also say it before the Spanish Inquisition is launched - of course there will be rattle. But I’m hopeful the layout and speed will be forgiving on any sympathetic vibrations carrying through the train chassis.

Let's keep in mind folks, as mentioned earlier ITT, right now they are running the ride without the holding brake at the top of the drop. I'm sure during the initial test runs they want to avoid valleys at any cost, so they're making sure it's going as fast as it can through the circuit to break the ride in.

It will not be running this fast when we get closer to the opening date and they are doing test runs that will more accurately portray the rides normal operation, nor when the ride opens to the public.

Although, don't get me wrong, it would be absolutely PHENOMENAL if they did some special ERT for enthusiasts and turned the holding brake off to ride it that way just once. Hell, i'd even sign a waiver to experience that!

Is it a possibility that they’re running the ride on harder wheels or similar for the first test as well? I seem to remember B&Ms like Mako previously flying through the circuit on first test runs and slowing down somewhat by opening time.

There is no doubt that this ride is going to run like ass, but that doesn't stop this from being one of my most anticipated coasters of 2026. A few years ago, I joked about a giga dive coaster, thinking to myself "hahaha they would NEVER do that", and here we are. I'd really like to get on it, even if it tracks awfully.

This was testing today - from mid-afternoon sending trains quite sporadically. Holding brake was working (for at least two of the test runs I saw) and it still flies through the loop at an impressive speed.

It looks massive in person too - just a real shame (and not just selfishly - overheard many people today saying similar things) that they didn't have this ready for the start of the season.
