New Theme Park Lillebyparken to open in Norway 2028

Wait and see.
The aim is to open this park in 2028, but they are still in search of investors.
I do love the artwork, but it can and probably will change a lot in all those years.
 
There are also plans for a hotel and convention center in the park.

Facts:
  • The area of the park is 570 acres, approximately the size of downtown Sandefjord.
  • The plan is to open parts of the park in 2028 and further expansions in 2029.
  • The cost estimate is 3-4 billion Norwegian kroner, distributed across multiple investment stages, with the initial stage being preliminary project financing.
  • Plans anticipate about 1.3 million visitors each year.
  • Expectation to generate around 1,200 full-time jobs in and around the park.
  • Indirect economic effects estimated at about 2 billion.
  • Customer base within a 1.5-hour drive is approximately 1.6 million.
  • 5,000 parking spaces with charging stations for both cars and buses.
  • Efficient and environmentally friendly electric buses to and from the park.

Hmm ... I'm not entirely sure there's enough of a market for another park this size in Norway, but it could potentially give some competition to Kristiansand Zoo and Amusement Park (while rarely mentioned by coaster enthusiasts, it is by far the largest amusement park in Norway) and the rather poorly run TusenFryd. And of course, now that the NOK has weakened so badly against the Euro and the DKK, more families are going to do their summer holiday trips in Norway instead of Denmark. This park might thus primarily compete against Legoland Billund, Djurs, and Fårup Sommerland.
 
It goes a bit slow due to bureaucracy.

But I did find this in a news article in a local newspaper from January this year.

"The plans are currently in a phase where technical studies and impact assessments are being carried out. Only once this work is completed — which may take up to two years — will the politicians decide the park’s fate. That is when it will be determined whether Lillebyparken AS will be allowed to develop an amusement park."

Park has also updated with a park map, just the layout without the attractions.

Great! It's probably safe to say a 2028 opening is out of the question then?
 
You could get good odds with any year in that question. Just seeing what this place claims is the answer to gives me the creeps.
