Futuroscope | The Race | Vekoma Thrill Glider | 2028

Futuroscope spoke about their future projects today and the most interesting is "The Race". If I translate the quote in the photo: "The Race" project will be a new roller coaster, where guests will "be suspended in a motorcycle position". This reminds me of the Vekoma Thrill Glider concept that is coming to Six Flags Magic Mountain in 2026 and could be the first one in Europe.

Great to see the park investing so much however 2028 does seem a long way away!

This is going to be quite the large development. Budget is reportedly €30 million and site preparation is now underway.

Cyber Avenue arcade closed in the fall and is being gutted for use as a station (not sure if both pics are related);



Walls are up and dirt is being pushed across a very large area to the southeast.

I guess someone got ahold of permits and this is judged to be a fairly solid recreation of what's to come. Not completely wowed by it but the pacing looks good and given the seating it should be quite a unique thrill ride experience still;
