Drayton Manor Resort Five Year Plan 2022 - 2026

having ridden it tonight definitely an improved ride experience, the lapbars can be a tad fiddly but comfortable and considering the trains aren't from Intamin but ART it doesn't ride too badly at all. 1.2m children will deffo be sh*tting themselves
 
Those trains are still ugly as all hell, but I'm hugely in favour of this change - never liked the stand-up trains and I think stand-up coasters as a whole moreorless died a death due to not working/not being very good.
 
For anyone who has recently visited the park or found anything in terms of news updates and future additions and changes, is there anything to keep an eye on for 2026 and onwards?
 
What do we think? There has been rumours of people spotted working inside the Pirates Adventure building so should be interesting if we get an announcement about that in 2026 for a future year - but alongside this, any ideas or hints on the future of the park?

I would like to see them be able to manage an opening day with more than a couple rides open before they try and tackle a dark ride…

That figure is surprising, £1.5 Million really? What do other parks in the UK generate, seems awfully small. Can't imagine much investment in the future with that kind of budget.

£1.5m profits, not turnover, pre tax profits... That is incredible for a park their size, in the current economic climate, any 'profit' at all is good news right now tbh. They've managed to invest in new hardware / areas, and make a profit... So quite the opposite, it leaves a lot of room for future investment, should they want.
 
An opportunity to reignite this topic, as there is a couple of things to keep in mind:

- Many rumours over the last season or so about the eventual possible return of Pirate Adventure (staff apparently going in and out of the building last season and exterior theming repainted over the last year)
- Plans to maybe add a lodge complex to boost accommodation in Staffordshire (https://www.insidermedia.com/news/m...es-to-provide-much-needed-extra-accommodation)

Obviously these are very exciting developments long-term - but what else could and would the park do realistically? Not just rides and attractions but overall additions to the park experience.

The Wave needs a clean, paint and an additional train really.
As for other additions etc I'd love to see a new gen Vekoma family coaster and some flats
