Dollywood | NightFlight Expedition | Mack Rocking Boat | 2026

I think Pirates falls extremely foul of simply just "not feeling like a coaster". There's absolutely nothing about that ride (from first hand experience) that makes it feel any different to any other boat ride in terms of it's hardware setup. It's the best dark ride on the planet (of those I've done), but not a coaster on the basis of 'feel'.
By the same token, could you not say the same about the Rocking Boat?

I admittedly haven’t ridden Mission Bermudes, but I see very little that would give it the “feel” of a coaster, personally.

Not that I've ridden one, but from a POV of Mission Bermudes it's completely different to Pirates. Pirates Shanghai is an amped up version of a 'normal' boat ride, not in any way coaster-y. Just go find a POV of it, and you'll see what I mean.

It's much, much, more in the 'coaster-adjacent' pot than Pirates - even a POV of each gives that much away.

Hey @ECG, this one's the correct thread for the 2026 construction site. The other thread was locked for a reason. :)
The announcement of the new 2026 attraction details will be made soon. I received an invite from the park with many hints, but details are embargoed until Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 1 p.m. So you'll have to continue speculating until then or until someone breaks the embargo.

I forgot to update this last week. The announcement will be on Wednesday, Sept. 17th, and the invite contained a few clues in italics.
Dolly Parton and Dollywood announce exciting details regarding the company’s newest attraction whichsoars into the park in 2026. Park officials will plunge media into the heart of the excitement about the largest single attraction investment in the history of Dollywood. Media attendees canclimb their way through thrilling information designed to help them as theynavigate the most exciting ways to share the news of this unparalleled new project.
The announcement represents the next step in the $500 million expansion plan first unveiled in 2021.

Damnnn, the animated concept towards the end of the video on that page looks great. Although they do say first ride of its type in the world... are they classing this as a worlds first because this version is indoors?

Cannot wait to hear more about this, the rocking boat really does look brilliant and excited to see what Dollywood can do with it. Imagine what you could do with it if you had the budget of Universal or Disney...

Obviously, we know near nothing . . . but in my head, if they incorporate, say, moving track sections and screen simulations then I think the distinction is clear enough to say it's a brand new experience compared to Mission Bermuda.

Apparently this one will have an actual coaster part, not part of the whole water/water drop part, but completely separate coaster element section.

I’m unconvinced that these Mack Rocking Boats would count as a cred for me… but if this one does have a more substantial coaster component, I may have to reconsider.

This looks really cool! I’m intrigued to see how a fully indoor application of this ride system turns out; with a $50m budget, I think it could be something quite special!

And now we excited wait for the layout!!
(I know it's a long shot but I hope the ride is sprawling through the outdoor area and interacts with the train!)

Couple of pictures of the construction site, taken yesterday from the choo-choo.
It's a big-ass building that's for sure, and you can see some of the ride's support structure going up inside, as well as some of the concrete channels for the watery bits.
Looks good. I'm excited to see how it pans out.
