According to insiders to Looopings, Bobbejaanland is making headways behind the scenes on a brand new attraction for the 2027 season, described as an imposing attraction type ”unique in Europe”. This would make it the park’s first ground-up addition since Fury in 2019, though the park has seen steady investment in recent years with multiple major refurbishments and the introduction of Halloween and Christmas events.

The reason it’s aiming for a 2027 opening is said to be due to the need to relocate the Zierer Wave Swinger ”Kettingmolen”, located near the front of the park. That ride will instead find a new home in the park’s ”Kinderland” area at the very back of the park (between Oki Doki and Dreamcatcher) during the 2026 season. The new ride would then inhabit Kettingmolen’s old location in 2027.

A spokesperson confirms to Looopings that the park does have ”exciting plans for the future”, but would share those at a later date as the park remains focused on its delivering its upcoming Halloween and first-ever Christmas events.

Interesting!

I'm not too familiar with Bobbejaanland... is there a lot of vacant land around this Wave Swinger's current plot? I'm trying to suss out if we could be looking at a potential coaster or something else...

It’s a landlocked plot with multiple rides surrounding it from all sides, so not a lot of space for a coaster. It’d be perfect for some kind of tower ride — question is what kind of tower would be ”unique in Europe”.

Do they still make windseekers?
I'm not sure tbh

Potentially it could be a complete revitalisation of that corner of the park. Maybe a major dark ride taking over the Wonder Garden and the removal of Flying Orca (or relocation like Kettingmolen). Something like that.

A darkride? I doubt that. Then they would build one in the hall of the Forbidden Caves instead of the new haunted house.

This corner of the park is one of the last remaining spots where they have the opportunity to build a ride or coaster which may produce noise because of the lack of neighbours at this side of the park.

Zamperla Big WaveZ.

Official concept art for the 2027 Nickelodeon area has dropped:

The new area will come with the aforementioned Big WaveZ, named Vloedgolf (”Tidal Wave”); an ART Wild Swing (because of course) named Plankton Power; and a family drop tower named Garfield’s Birthday Surprise. The Wild Swing is set to replace the ”Flying Orcas” ride, which won’t be relocated to another section of the park unlike the Wave Swinger.

Someone who works at BJL told me there are plans for building Europa-Park-like, a separate Halloween area. A scarezone which will be scarier and this way families with children doesn't have to go through the area. It should be a big area with a new maze which should be on the level of Next of Kin.

So it could be on this land that they're preparing now.

EDIT: user Stijn050 on Pretparkclub explained that the preparations we see, is not for the expansion from the Halloween area.

The major works you see in the photo are part of the water capture or extraction from the river Nete.

Previously, all the water for the water attractions was pumped from the Nete. However, that is no longer permitted.

This retention basin collects the water they use in order to maintain the water level during droughts in the summer and to keep the groundwater level stable.

So most likely it has nothing to do with the Halloween area that they're planning.
