142 of the current IMDB list

I found a BIG pile of unwatched DVDs earlier, which inspired me

Good back from the dead post. 125/250 on current list. It's a weird list, heavy on Hitchcock so I'm rewarded for loving his work. The score also broadly reflects that I used to be a film buff but recently I'm less bothered/my partner isn't bothered.

Actually I tried to work through a critic list recently in daytime viewing but hardly any were on Netflix, which is what I have in Belgium. Have seen some excellent European (I.e not in English) ww2 films through the Netflix algorithm recently: The Forgotten Battle about the fight for Zeeland, Wil about police in Antwerp in the war, Narvik about the winter war in Norway, and Number 24 about the Norwegian resistance. I can see in looking them up to get the names right that they are all about the 7 mark on IMDB so I must(like a rickety wooden coaster)rate them higher than the mean but I thought they were all excellent. They are all quite slow paced for war films, which I guess isn't everyone's cup of tea.

I'm getting from this list that I am a bad film buff.

Only at 98 on this list as it is today but I watch more films than most people I know 😂 and very few of my favourite films are anywhere near that list.

90% on the current imdb list for me.

it's a great list for people wanting to get into films and highlights a good mix of larger art films and more populous hits also. but there's a world of riches out there after you've ticked off a large majority. you get a lot of block voting for random films that really have no right being in a list of top 250 films ever, there's some very strange films in there from nations that must have voted en masse and got the film to the minimum number of votes to be included. i tried a few of them and no, not for me.
