Alton Towers | Bluey the Ride: Here come the Grannies! | Zierer Coaster | 2026

3 hour queue incoming?

Given how crazy opening days have been for new rides at Towers in recent years, part of me hopes that for the opening weekend of the ride at least they restrict Bluey just to families with children. I can envision lots of vloggers/enthusiasts wanting that "I rode Alton Towers new roller coaster on its opening day" fake-clout and it causing overly long queues which stop the target audience riding.

Ah, so that's why Sanbrooke had a kid... :P

In all seriousness though Josh, totally agree and I've been saying that for a while.

Pretty sad these days that a statement needs to be made to stop the adults recording themselves and uploading it to social media platforms.

And also recording a bunch of children. Good move. Let the target audience enjoy this first, it's almost equivalent to the scalpers who buy Pokemon cards in bulk and resell them at obscene prices, thereby pricing the actual target audience out of the hobby.

😬 so i rode it, to be fair we went with my friends and their kid so i dont feel to bad 😅

I think its a great addition and my friends kid loved it, theming in the station is a bit basic but around the queue and coaster its decent. First hill gives a tiny amount of floater with the rest of the layout being nice and twisty.

My day at Towers:
Ill try to keep short but it was ok for me, Skyride not working sucked and the little one was just tall enough to ride the Runaway train but alas thats also closed. First time for my friends and my gf at the park and they liked it, operations were fast but we did single rider for Oblivion and Galactica and we watched train after train have empty seats, we ended up self assigning ourselves for the latter. We did over ten rides and it was quite busy, would have done Hex but it broke down as we sat down and we did not get back to it. First time on curse for me and i thought it was great and Wicker man was running rapid and was probably our highlight of the day. The park definitely needs some work and investment but we still had a nice time.
