Having researched this ride it sounds pretty good.Chessington is better than I realised as it has a few dark rides!Might visit when I do a Thorpe Park trip but I also would quite like to see Windsor so is a tough decision:)

To be fair depending where you are coming from, they are all really close. You could stay central and do them all over three days.

Odd choice of colors. Why not dark brown and dark green?

To be honest, I'm pleased to see Merlin building coaster track in colours that aren't black. Also, they already have a dark green and dark brown coaster on park.

Some great aerial photos have been shared by Parkverse on Facebook here:

The coaster will be called Escape the Nether and, in a surprising bit of news, the Azteca Hotel is being rethemed to a Minecraft Hotel:

Yeah I don't love the color combination but it does fit the color scheme of the game and more specifically the nether which is the realm in the game the coaster is based off. The red is the main color of the blocks that make up a lot of the realm, netherrack. The green is the same shade as the grass from the overworld in the game which could kind of fit into the theming of escaping the nether presumably back into the overworld. There's also green grass and green trees/wood in the nether that are similar to that color so it matches those too. Not the prettiest color scheme I'd agree, but thematically it does fit.

In the context of a colourful, vibrant video game themed aesthetic, the track and support colours should fit in quite seamlessly. Without the Minecraft theme, it wouldn't look the nicest.
When I think of Minecraft and the nether specifically, green and brown are a good combo and fit the theme or brown and red/orange do for the nether theme.

I can see that (kind of), but then it would have to be the other way around. Red/orange columns and (dark) green track.

Just so we're all on the same page, this is the Nether we're talking about:

It's black, grey, brown and orange. All of its colors are dark, not this cartoony bright Karls strawberry mix.

When you google Minecraft, the first few results are all NOT red and neon green, which is logical because the primary colors associated with Minecraft are green and brown (maybe also grey):

Yeah it's definitely not perfect but I can see what they're going for. Give it a couple years and they'll be faded enough to match the game better lol

I find it hilarious that 5-6 years ago people were complaining that Merlin never do colourful track. Now people are complaining the track is too colourful.

Yes, brown and green would suit it better (the iconic grass block), but that's taken by Mandrill.

'Merlin never do colourful track' = apples
'track are the wrong colours' = oranges
I think the only people complaining about the colours are people into minecraft that think the colours don't make sense?
(i don't know about minecraft but just saying the comparison is off)
