Six Flags Magic Mountain | Thrill Glider | Vekoma Thrill Glider | 2027

I have ridden it, and I still think this looks dull. As I said in my previous post, the STCs have more varied layouts than this. Still, I'd happily be proven wrong down the line.

Well STCs LOOK rather dull as well. They aren't. We'll see!

That horrible video rendering isn't helping

Looks like a fun ride but seeing that it will only have 2, 16-passenger trains makes me less excited about planning a trip to ride it. Even if the ride can't run 3 trains, surely having a third train as a spare would make sense for a year-round park like SFMM.

Vekoma STCs may not be the most suitable comparison, as the seating arrangement is essentially the Vekoma Motorbike design. Imagining this as a TRON-with-terrain coaster doesn’t feel too far-fetched.

A few other things that peak interest: I appreciate about the emphasis on barrel rolls. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed Vekoma’s latest inversion designs, with solid positive g-force pop. The turns and transitions also appear to be quite snappy, and they could potentially serve as solid transitions if the speed is maintained.

Interest peaked!

^I'm guessing the scenery won't be as nice.

Brilliant stuff, aside from the obvious concerns about capacity.

Vekoma haven't put a foot wrong in the last few years, but the US parks have been oddly late to the party.

Could we guess at a very rough opening date? I'm hoping to get over there next Spring.

Vekoma's U.S. trade license was inactive for so long it expired, and they were using S&S as their subcontractor to get around the issue.

Most of these coasters were purchased years back when they were still renewing their trade license. Parks weren't necessarily late.

This is exactly how I feel about it, also having ridden Fianna Force - which is indeed excellent.

I do think this will live or die by the seating arrangement though - it may well be a fantastic ride when taking that into account.

Here's a better look at the track on-site:

I think this will be a really good ride, like top 5 in the park kind of good. If X2 doesn't reopen though it won't be enough to replace that and Superman, they will need a new headline act pretty soon if the park is still to be considered one of the best coaster collections in the World.
