New Coaster at Pleasurewood Hills?

It must surely to be possible for the same type of rules that allows country parks to erect rides temporarily, and then in theory retrospectively ask for permission for permanentcy.

Some not so positive news from Pleasurewood Hills - Cannonball Express to be SBNO for 2026.

We’ve got an important update to share 💙

For the 2026 season, Cannonball Express will be taking a break from operation.

We are currently exploring all options, everything from new trains to track colours and assessing what would be required to bring the ride back in the best possible way.

As part of that process, we need to carefully review the investment and ensure it’s the right decision for the long-term future of the ride and the park.

This isn’t goodbye, it’s just a pause while we properly evaluate the next steps.

We’ll keep you updated as plans develop, and there’s still plenty to look forward to in 2026 💫
They are putting a positive spin on it talking about the possibility of a revamp and even new trains (plural!) but also leaving the door open for a complete scrapping.

For me it's a decent ride but seriously let down by its abysmal capacity with its single train so hopefully it gets a repaint and a couple of new trains for 2027.

The park has had some solid new additions this year. Including a Star Flyer, Ferris Wheel and two coasters - one being a Wacky Worm and the other being a Spinning Coaster which used to operate at Ocean Beach as Crash Test.

With the extremely rapid growth, investments & improvements across the park this year, I'm starting to think about if the new owner may be overspending a little on new additions and refreshes within the park. He seems incredibly passionate, but is it the correct financial decision to revitalise so many areas of the park over one off-season instead of spreading them out over a few? Are we going to see the same levels of investments & spending across the next 2, 3 off seasons?

He must be immensely confident on Cannonball Express's future if there's a social media post about the ride vehicle being sent off. My hope for its future remains dim, but I hope that an unwelcome discovery doesn't grind the park's updates to a halt and they follow up with an awkward announcement where the answer to the question "can we save it?" is "no".

I'll be watching this park with great interest.

I think that the park is probably spending wisely tbf.

There are two types of parks, ones with a load of permanent rides, that age, usually have big initial impact, but then the value reduces over time. Then there are the more seaside type parks that rely on swapping things out frequently.

If the stokes group have the rides to fill the spaces, that's not a huge investment barring the potential earn on the road. If Cannonball is back next season, there's no way the spinning coaster will stay, unless it has proved a massive hit.

I think that given their likely resources and the state of the park, they have probably done enough to make it profitable, without overreach, and have done enough in my eyes to make me want to visit for the first time next year, having never done so in 40 odd years.

It certainly seems more in the right direction than merlin are facing at the moment.
