It's interesting that Energylandia has been quiet about this. Usually they announce things long before they start construction. Many times adding things to the park map that never see the light of day. I wonder why it is different now?
If this is smooth I think a dive coaster would be a great addition to the park. Considering most of the gp at Energylandia have probably never ridden anything comparable and dives are gp crowd pleasers. Another Vekoma sit down could feel too close to Formula and Abyssus. Personally, I also wish...
My phone journey started in 2010 with a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini. A super tiny and cute smartphone. I was 7 years old at the time so I've never had a button phone. Then I sank while I was sailing and destroyed the Mini. Went on to a HTC Desire S. This was more a big boy phone. Unlike the...
No. These are 2 totally different projects, pretty far away from each other. One is a smaller theme park in a rural area of Transilvania. The other one is a multi destination mall/theme park/arena/events space/resort outside of Bucharest. These projects have nothing to do with each other.
The...
This was such a necessary move. Kristallsalongen was starting to look really worn down and with today's snapchat filters, distorted mirrors aren't as interesting. I love that Kristallsalongen is now exhibited in the Christmas Liseberg museum.
Liseberg just announced whole year operations for the kiddie area (Kaninlandet). Beginning in 2026, Kaninlandet will be open every weekend the whole year. In the winter months the ice rink from Christmas will also stay open. Liseberg says this is influenced by wanting to offer Liseberg hotel...
There are some news here. The insurance company (Trygg Hansa) have refused all claims and blame the accident on negligence. Trygg Hansa will conduct a more thorough investigation which is expected to be revealed soon. If they still refuse to pay the claim, it will lead to a long court case...
It's the cost that they will pay to the constriction firm NCC (about 600 millions) and for the slide hardware (about 200 million) in order to get the park opened. When the park burned up it was basically in the commissioning phase. It was almost finished and testing was soon starting. They had...
Demolition of the old slide tower and roof is now finished and reconstruction has started. The reconstruction will cost 800 million SEK and take approximately 2 years. It is a very difficult process due to the necessity to go through every component and either decide to replace it or keep it...
That wasn't a fine due to a criminal court conviction. It was a sanction fee ordered by Finansinspektion. Klarna did not commit a crime. These are different things.
Sweden is very conservative regarding company fines. The record fine was 14 million SEK given out earlier this year to a forestry company. Otherwise fines rarely go over 10 million SEK.
The 18 million SEK (about 1.6 million USD) is very small compared to what Funtime is charged. The Jetline...
An update. Gröna Lund are rejecting the charges. Their lawyer stated that Gröna Lund didn't commit a crime and shouldn't pay anything. They don't want to go more into detail due to the pending legal battle.
Now to the opinion phase. I find this pretty stupid by Gröna Lund. The Swedish Accident...
It's my writing that isn't. I summarised and translated a pretty long Swedish article. Let's rephrase it.
The manufacturer did not know they were creating a part for an amusement ride but anyways lacked the necessary competence and certifications to produce parts for amusement park rides. That...
The charges for this accident have just been revealed. The main component at fault was the load bearing upstop arm. It was manufactured badly, broke and caused the accident. The prosecutors in the case are pursuing significant penalties for the three companies involved in the tragic accident at...
Liseberg could very well do this but they don't. Weekdays out of season the park is a ghost town but they still always fully staff it and have everything open. It might make sense for them to look at opening the park more but have less staff, less trains and less outlets open on slow days.
In an incident report to the Swedish Work Environment Authority, the police have now established for the first time the cause of the large fire at Oceana.
"When welding the water slide, a fire started which then spread to the rest of the building," the police write in documents to the authority...
An update on what has happened around Oceana. Two weeks ago on the 21/2 Liseberg held a memorial for Oceana in Luna Park. A bunch of Liseberg bunnies were there offering hugs, the big carousel was open and a lot of sombre staff members were present handing out bunny plush toys. It was overall a...
