Rode it twice today and we were very lucky!
Got to Hyperia on park opening and was greeted by the staff explaining it was on a 2 hour delayed opening as they were waiting on external maintenance technicians arriving at the park. (Odd?)
During this time we got speaking to an Intamin staff...
It'll be fun to find out, as watching it all unfold yesterday confused me to the actual problem. It could be several!
The more 'senior' engineer who was dressed a bit more casual was stood next to the brake run watching 2/3 trains come in. These trains were stopped relatively early on the brake...
Today wasn't ideal! Queued at the top of Forbidden Valley from around 9:40. Nemesis gates opened at 10:00. Didn't get off the ride until 11:40.
Ride was running on 1 train for the first 40 minutes, full capacity, but turnaround times were pushing 3-4minutes.
We then got to the front of the...
Doesn't look great for today...it's been shut since 10:00 with people saying the trains weren't even on the track at park opening.
Hopefully nothing too serious as I booked for tomorrow! Somebody on a MAP page mentioned B&M attending to check out the rattle, but likely just hearsay
Re: Hostage in Hershey://Lap 1500, Puke, Pee, E-stop (Day 4-
Just a quick one as I'm unaware of anything like this - How do you get to 'marathon' sky rush as such (And whats to learn?) Is it a case of simply running around back into the queue and queuing back up? (I can't imagine this as...
Just came across this on youtube and thought "OMG I HAVE TO SHOW EVERYONE THE NEW POV" seems like I'm late to the party. This looks simply amazing. Wish the camera angle was from the seat but damn, this would make me travel out just for this
I just realised which one this is, I thought this was the old "Rollercoaster" which is the bigger one right next to it. Didn't even realise this smaller one existed ...
Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train (WC16) | Thorpe Park | May 2
After reading that link from reddit (just tells you everything about the ride) I look forward to riding it! It's something different and I hate jumpy stuff, so will definitely be a thrill for me!
Haha i laughed at that bit too. To be fair, it is the Daily Mail (i think thats what the link is?) So they leech onto every possible thing.
£70,000 is what the best ones cost, its not just a plastic prosthetic, it'll bend like an actual leg - so after physio, she will be able to walk 'normal'...
What is the need to have rolled up/cut off her right jean leg? Fair enough, yes, it was horrific. But its clearly not about anything to do with her 'recovery'. Nobody thinks shes 'scared', shes doing it for the media attention, and stories from it ££££££. SMH, don't see the other victims trying...
Some more shots of testing in first half of the ride also (bits all over this video just skip through if you want) -

Re: Alton Towers' Galactica VR coaster/Rollercoaster Restaur
Indeed, glad I didn't get a digipass though, most rides I have my hands up, and unfortunately either covered my face, or the partners on most rides (Can only blame myself!!)
6ft 3ish, so when I'm sat down, the bits that come over your shoulders, are around the middle of my neck. (On Nemesis, Oblivion and Smiler, there is no gap between my shoulders and the restraint unless I slouch :( ) Its good in 1 way, that I don't get thrown about and don't smash my head around...
Exactly the same, she loved Galactica and said it felt comfortable and also loves stealth, and even though I don't get head banging on Nemesis but I suppose even if you bang your head/ear on the B&M harness', they aren't the most forgiving.
I think Nemesis and Smiler threw her around a bit...
Agreed with you there, however the queueline is probably one of the shortest now at AT. They weren't TOO bad actually, but Nemesis just does seem to be a pain with the steps and walking around the photo booth etc to get back in - think it looks longer than it is.
(although I just put above my...
Well I was with the Girlfriend - Nemesis is probably one of the best rides in the park granted, but it was rather warm and I was shattered come the 2nd day, so walking across the garden/full length of the park to get to 2 rides (Galactica and Nemesis) is sometimes hard to judge when your tired -...
The Enchanted Village in my opinion was great, and would be good midweek, summer (outside half term, less kids etc). The Village was one of the best parts of the trip - and even though there were limited things to do there (/Splash landings had some entertainment on in the evening - but it was...
In all honesty I was thinking similar things, seems like Gerst was given the task of forcing all of the elements in, whilst having a strict space and this was the best they could do? (which is quite a good attempt). I like the look of it from afar, it looks very impressive. The worst inversions...
It did throw me about quite a bit to be fair, thinking about it on hindsight. Even the 3rd inversion throws you around a bit - Its smooth right until it throws you into any form of inversion and it just seems to 'jolt' you around it a bit - snapping like motions.
