^Excellent news for those discharged..but not so much for those who remain in hospital.
OK, so I've had a little think about this. The question I ask is:
What if there were two faults which occurred at almost exactly the same time, one of which was the valley?
I'm not too familiar with control...
^Yep, that does seem possible, although you'd think they would have procedures against that kind of thing happening.
It's funny, because I didn't even mean to do that.....I see what I did there now ;)
Anyway, apparently, some of the ride staff were made aware by the GP of it - but perhaps...
Actually, just checked the back of the Smiler's train and there is indeed an impact dampener, or whatever you want to call it. If they had had one on the front, perhaps the accident would have been alleviated...but either way, it's lucky they had a dampener on the back - otherwise this could...
Horrendous...prayers go to everyone involved, including those unfortunate enough to witness it. As has been alluded to earlier, this sounds like a bit of a freak accident - technically this shouldn't happen, but it's just that one in practically infinity chance.
Thank god it could have been...
I think Six Flags has too :p
That, and SfWW are unlikely to get anything extremely significant next year...
By the way, Count me a big fan of six flags' commitment to new additions in every park year - an investment strategy like that keeps parks appealing, fresh, and prevents (ish) neglect.
Ha! As amazing as that would be, I'd consider it reasonably unlikely, considering it got new PTC trains back in 2013. If only....just like cyclone and Rattler, it has plenty of unused potential, especially in the helix (eurgh, never ridden it though)
Anyway, I think the first thing we need to...
Well, did anyone notice some of Knightmare's track in the brakerun was missing in that video?
I suppose I can probably keep dreaming...
It's so saddening (and downright creepy) to see it get into such a state. It's even sadder to see such awful, and very much deliberate, vandalism - just...
Really glad this is happening - perhaps the early start indicates a more lengthy rehab, with new trains perhaps? Hope so, as that would make it vaguely re-rideable ;)
I just hope it's not being repainted 'Merlin Grey', as it looked really good in it's prime, and should look even better now that...
Phantasialand to demolish the Western area for something new
^ ^I think so! I think they're referring to parts on the construction site.
If it's Zierer, why is there a carbon copy of cheetah hunt's 'tunnel' ?
Given that Intamin and Zierer track styles are virtually identical, it's very hard...
If you want to see it's first test run, I'd hop over to the webcam right now!
The transfer track just moved, so we should be on track for a test run slightly later today.

I suppose there isn't a financial incentive to refurbish dragon falls, so sadly, it may not ever return in its previous form. Merlin will either remove it completely, or replace it with something quite different so they can market it properly. Hopefully its replacement will also be a flume-type...
Fair enough, after major capital investment, a price increase is justified, but after 3 years of nothing? Good one Merlin. Yep, Tesco clubcard vouchers here I come!
Hmmm. To be perfectly honest, this neglect all seems a bit like a soon to be SFKK to me, and maybe even Chessie too. No new...
Actually, if I'm correct, Merlin management has only ever added one thrilling flat ride - Kobra at Chessington, which most of the GP would identify as a coaster anyway. They've definitely removed more than they've added in any case!
At least they're keeping Slammer going...but for how long? ;)
Great topic! Just up my street ;) At the risk of sounding like a broken record, here I go...
I personally think, with the exception of colour schemes, Alton has been managed superbly in recent years, but still has some of the chain-wide symptoms of Merlin nonchalance. These include, but are not...
Gardaland | Oblivion - The Black Hole | B&M Dive Coaster
Looks like they're trying to hide the entrance to the tunnel to me. I actually quite like the ride so far - it's got a pretty solid dive machine layout, and I quite like that bridge into the station. Hopefully they'll add more theming to...
Re: Alton Towers | unknown | unknown kiddie coaster
OK, I think I owe you an apology then...your bet seems to be much better than mine! Goes to show just how much of a wild guess speculation can be!
Anyway, the track may not look exactly like a Zierer, but it's certainly closer than to Zierer...
So they are. It still surprises me that they need to manually check seatbelts...I mean wouldn't a visual scan suffice? Surely you can see whether it's clicked in or it isn't, unlike with a proper restraint? Everyone should be able to tie up a seatbelt properly.
They more than doubled Gwazi's...
Re: New attraction for former Beastie site?
^Hmmm...it's very hard to tell at the moment, but the curved stairwell piece (1st pic) seems to suggest a coaster with a curved lift crest rather than the flat one seen on zierer forces.
My bets are currently on a Junior Gert- something like Legoland...
Re: Gardaland | Oblivion - The Black Hole | B&M Dive Coaster
Hmm. Interesting choice from Merlin there and it's one of hell of a mouthful isn't it?
'Do you want to ride Oblivion The Black Hole? I mean Nemesis Inferno has a bit of a ring to it, but I can imagine the GP being blissfully unaware...
Re: New attraction for former Beastie site?
Aren't they thinking of removing Spinball though in the near future? I like Junior Spinball though...
Just found this....http://rcdb.com/12592.htm
Anyway...building a small family coaster without excessive marketing? Investing in something small...
