Small News From The Theme Park Industry

Another restraint failure, this time on what looks to be a travelling KMG afterburner in Mexico.

For obvious reasons this occuring on a fairground ride in Mexico isn't as surprising as a B&M in Six Flags but the result is still the same. Poor girl, RIP.

Plopsaland Deutschland is drafting plans for a major refurbishment to the iconic Expedition GeForce, which would include retheming, repaint, and an enclosed station. Sources say a space theme and a blue track are high on the list of options, but a final decision hasn’t been made yet.

It's promising that they're thinking of retheming EGF. The ride is getting on a bit now, at 25 years old, and with the way things are heading and how lots of 90s and 2000s big hitters are closing or getting retracks/refurbs, I wouldn't have been overly surprised if removal was on the cards within the next few years. But if they're thinking of splashing out on lavish new theming, the ride must have some life in it yet!

If they did go for a space theme, I actually think the current name would probably work quite well for it...

I certainly hope it stays around for at least a few more years yet, as I'd very much like to get on it...

This is fab news! It was running great a few ago and it was great to enjoy a number of laps on it.
It’s still got a punch and still one of the better coaster experiences in Europe.

Looks to be an authentic KMG, but also clearly had some sort of third party modification to it with additional crossbars added. Wonder if they were doing other non-KMG mods to it

Disney has filed a patent for a new flying theater concept that would involve passengers loading on top of a flat platform that then shifts to an upright position while the seats remain level on separate arms attached to the platform. The platform would then be able to shift, heave, drop, and even tilt forwards and backwards while the ride is in motion, bringing whole new dimensions to the flying theater experience. Once the ride is finished, a counterweight would then force the platform back to a flat position, meaning the ride could self-rescue in the event of the motors failing. Disney says in their patent that this design not only allows them to use smaller and cheaper actuators, thus lowering operating and maintenance costs, but also speed up loading and make it more accessible for disabled guests.

Fantawild at it yet again

2 new parks underway, The one in the northern city of Hami features the 2nd example of a Jinma XGC-20G inverted coaster and a weird looking Boomerang (and no doubt some junior coaster of some kind)

the second one is in Luoyang and features a Jinma junior boomerang, a puppy dog coaster and possibly a Jinma Dive Machine.

Theres going to be a few new posts in a row here but they are all about very different things so for the ease of anyone who wants to link or quote specific things here we go

Not a country that gets many new coasters but the new Bashundhara Central Park in Dhaka, Bangladesh will open with a Jinma Boomerang coaster which will I think be the tallest coaster in the country.

Some photos of the second ever Zamperla 50m Double Heart Coaster. This one has been constructed at Family Park Skazka just outside Moscow.
The first opened at Lotte World Busan in South Korea as Giant Revolution earlier this month. In front of it is the parks also new Jinma boomerang (another one). these are 2 of 5 new coasters to open at the park in the last year,

I imagine a response to Dream Worlds new lineup of Intamins
