Universal Studios Florida | Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift| Intamin Spinning Launched Coaster | 2027

I don't know if it's just the angle of those photos, but that spike really doesn't look like 170ft 😂

I'd argue that Velocicoaster still looks taller, BUT, I'm sure seeing it in person will change that perspective (especially as it's towering over the city walk).

Construction update:

Am I the only one thinking this looks like the poorer out of the two Hollywood Drift 'coasters? Maybe this one will have more drifting in the turns and spike, or maybe I just need to see it running, but it doesn't feel as exciting as the (actual) Hollywood version so far. Maybe it's the hillside setting in Hollywood, or just having seen the trains there take the inversions, but that one feels like there's more to it than this one.

I kind of felt the same until recently. The first half of this layout actually seems pretty dull compared to a lot of recent Intamin coasters. However, seeing it drift/spin might change that. Also the setting of the Hollywood version on the hillside does make it feel more unique and makes for a more interesting element order in some ways, like dropping down the hillside, before being launched back up the hill towards the stall etc.

However, now the second half of this Orlando layout is in... I think its better. From the launch into the spike onwards I do think this will shine. If you rotate during that spike, during the top hat, drift during the overbank and then rotate again through the stall, that sequence to me is great and will be a really punchy finale.

Never really occurred to me but I do like the idea that one could start off in the front row for the first half of the ride, to all of a sudden you're now in the back row for the second half (while still facing forwards). That'll offer a unique experience of forces.
