Pleasure Beach Resort | Aviktas | Intamin Gyro Swing | 2026

Blackpool have done a construction update video, i do love this style of ride and am super happy Blackpool is stepping up and getting one.


2026 in the UK is shaping up quite nicely for additions, mabey new best flat ride in the UK with this. Paultons likely getting one of the best lands with Chessington & Towers adding to thier family line ups. The best year for rides in the UK no but a solid year.
 
I mean, I know it is big, but next to The Big One, it actually looks kinda tiny! Those aerial shots in particular make it look like a kiddy swing. 😂
 
^ It's filmed from afar but by what it looks like while the tall fences are by the park the gates that open to the ride area are the exact same as Swingi at Linnanmäki, which makes me think they're supplied by Intamin (a subcontractor most likely, but by Intamin with the ride) in which case I really hope for Pleasure Beach's sake something's changed there with reliability.

Swingi's down all the time, but it's almost never a problem with the ride hardware itself per se, the gates throw false positives all the time and there's four gates that have to be closed to the ride area and if one of them doesn't register as closed the ride does an e-stop, requiring the whole rigamarole of opening and closing the gates until it agrees to run the ride, doing an empty test run, then allowing guests back on.

Got one ride on it during the previews last Wednesday. The little courtyard between the ride entrance and the start of the queue was nice by blackpool standards, but they definitely need to put some work in to the stuff around it. The ride itself is great, felt exactly the same as Loke, but they seemed to be having some operational issues leading to checking restraints multiple times that I heard have also been happening today.
 
Well Aviktas is very good, isn’t it? I’ve never been massively convinced by the hype for gyroswings previously, but this one is definitely my favourite; lots of airtime and speed, lovely restraints, and far less nausea than the likes of Cyclonator at Paultons!

I still think the “best ride in the UK” hype isn’t a sentiment I agree with, but it is very, very good, even as someone who’s not an enormous fan of flat rides!
