Universal Studios Florida | Unknown | Unknown | 2026? (Replacement for Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit)

Press release

Orlando, Fla. (January 20, 2026) –Universal Orlando Resort is revving up for its next big thrill with Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift – a high-octane outdoor roller coaster that will join the Universal Studios Florida family in 2027.

Replacing the former Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will put guests in the driver seat of the high-speed thrills of Universal Pictures’ Fast & Furious universe like never before. Riders will experience the exhilarating sensation of 360-degree drifting as they speed through jaw-dropping maneuvers – including a 170-foot vertical “spike” that will send riders nearly 17 stories in the air over the outskirts of Universal CityWalk.

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will join an award-winning collection of coaster experiences at Universal Orlando Resort and is another exciting example of the incredible growth, momentum and world-class innovation of Universal Destinations & Experiences. Universal Studios Hollywood will also debut its own, one-of-a-kind Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift outdoor roller coaster later this year.

As Universal Studios Florida makes way for this exciting new experience, Fast & Furious – Supercharged will permanently close in 2027.

(my emphasis on that last paragraph 🤣 )

Wait, so not only are we getting a new coaster, which if it's anything as good as the Hollywood one looks like is an absolute result... but they're also getting rid of bar-none the worst ride on the resort!?

Holy crap! Replace Villain-Con with something actually good and the park is looking good again.

Have you forgotten about Race Through New York?.. 🙃

Real talk tho why can't they just call it "Fast & Furious" since the other ride named after the franchise is closing afterwards

Or then go the other direction and name it Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift Florida Edition Reloaded Turbo Boost 6-speed

Here's a better look at the track that's been delivered:

Current look at staged stuff;

A station building is rapidly rising, the first one will presumably be maintenance related and probably some back of house stuff.

Stakes have been planted at all of the footers in the front. Assembly can’t be far away now, all depends on what’s been delivered so far. Universal will likely have prioritized these supports anyhow.
