What are the strongest brakeruns you've ever encountered

Hyper Poster
I was just talking about brakes with some friends and had the theory that one reason that Zadras brakes were so gentle is due to the issues with Vengeance and its braking system.
Well, I then thought about some rides with insane brakes, and would like to know your candidates.

3: Zadra
This brake is a punch and I still dread it to this day. It fits the ride in a weird way, but gosh, it is powerful.
2: Arie Force One
Not only does this ride feature the craziest airtime ever, it also has one of the hardest brakes. It might not be much more intense then Zadras, but with it coming directly after an ejector pop, it hits differently.
1: Cool & Fresh:
I had the "pleasure" of riding this one during its short stint on funfairs (it was at the Cranger Kirmes in Herne, Germany, to be precise). I was still a kid and didn't know the difference between a good and a bad coaster, but I knew that this one was bad. It had one reduction brake, which slowed you down in 0.1 seconds and a final brakerun to match it. This thing didn't brake, it simply stopped you.

I wonder what rides I missed that are also blessed with a crazy brakerun.

From memory, I would say Plopsaland's Batflyer (or any Caripro Batflyer for that matter). Those brakes were extremely uncomfortable, not least because of the awkward straddled seating design. Lisebergbanan's brakes are quite extreme as well.

But, otherwise, this;

I didn't find the Bats at Plopsaland too bad. But I may or may not have been slightly inebriated when riding it. Shockwave was definitely not too bad compared to some others.

@TilenB HOLY MOTHER OF GOD

Really? Broms does certainly has some power to it, but I don't think its comparable to the likes of Zadra, AF1 or whatever that thing from the video is. Where I lucky during my visits and had "old" brakes?

There's that coaster at WMSP where the op has to go to each person warning them of the brake run before despatch. I was expecting it to be horrendous after that warning, but it really didn't come close to Zadra...

But yeh... Zadra.

P.s I'm guessing the Banana had been fixed before my first rides in 2019, as it wasn't too bad at all.

Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Orlando, the brakes into each set piece.

After a serious head rattling on Rip Ride Rockit, the harsh brakes on the Mummy caused some serious head throbbing each time.

Any small scale Mack coaster from before they switched to magnetic brakes (newer ones like Bakken's wild mouse) for slowing down, so Tulireki at Linnanmäki as well as old school Wilde Maus models like Crazy Mine. Those things are a gut punch.

If anyone remembers The Black Holes brake run that thing was brutal especially due to the seating.

Maybe 8-10 months ago, Goliath at Magic Mountain retooled their brakes going into the station, and they are awful. Not only very harsh and abrupt, but then they instantly release and repeat it about 3-4 times in a row. I have no idea why it's like this now.

If you are watching the ride, you can see everyone's head, hair, and torso whip forward with every brake and hear people crying out in pain

I feel like Maurer spinning coasters deserve an honourable mention as well. They are as sudden as they are intense. They even stop their drive tires with some serious force.

Definitely agree with ArieForce One. Nothing like folding over a lap bar when you’re still airborne!

Magnum XL200 on the rare occasion that you get setup on the block brake right after the last Dorito hill (fortunately this doesn’t happen often since it has to be manually reset).

Some of the old school Zamperla spinning mice are like a car crash.

the brakes themselves aren't especially strong but i found SFFT iron rattler's brake entry to be really uncomfortable, especially in the middle of the train. you get strong air, strong lats, and pretty strong brakes all at the same time.

Yeah, Zadra. On one of my ride I tried bracing myself against the empty seat in front of me, but instead of the full seatframe I only caught the inner padding/seatbucket with my hand. I pushed it out of its framework by about 30 centimetres lol
