PortAventura Park | Unknown | Mack Stryker Coaster | 2027/2028 ?

I’m not really sure where this rumor comes from, so I’m starting this topic with a lot of caution.

But apparently, PortAventura may have purchased a Stryker Coaster from Mack Rides. The opening is rumored to be planned for 2027/2028, and the coaster would be located in the Polynesian area if we go by this post :

Since IAAPA 2025 was held in Barcelona, it wouldn’t surprise me if there were discussions between Mack and the park about adding a new attraction. However, it would seem a bit surprising to place such a large ride in the quietest area of the park.

That said, it’s also completely possible since the area is being refreshed, especially with the Adventure Trail arriving there this year.

We’ll have to see how things develop in the future. If it’s true, we should start seeing footers or the beginning of construction within the next few months.

When PortAventrura has been at least years IAAPA, because they are interested in a new ride which can be a coaster, I think they would have talked with many different companies and not only Mack Rides.

Oh god. I’m imagining the moving station platform at a complete stop already…

But in all seriousness, this is exciting. I absolutely loved Voltron and would love to see what the next iteration would be capable of!
We have Supersonic Train coming to, whatever that park is called, next year, so this would be the third! (fourth if you count helios)

This would be superb for PA if true!

I loved my visit there in 2024, but one thing I think the main park could use is another modern thrill coaster to complement Shambhala. A Stryker would fulfil that brilliantly, and if Voltron is anything to go by, it could also be very well received!

Although I find Polynesia an odd choice of area, as it’s currently quite green and secluded. I can’t quite picture a massive great Mack in that area of PortAventura…

Yes I understand your concerns about this. But that's the major problem of the PortAventura resort, they don't have many options to expand the park, because there's only free space left behind China and Polynesia

Polynesia has that huge warehouse with the simulator inside, clear that out and it has some significant space, and they can reuse the old queueline as it was very well themed. I do hope they keep it away from the main thoroughfare though to keep it secluded.

Also, should this thread not be in News and Rumours? There’s not been any construction or concrete announcements yet.

Really excited by this, if it does come to fruition.

I visited the park in December 2025 for the first time since around 2002 and, I felt so underwhelmed by Polynesia. It was probably one of my most vivid memories of visiting back in 2002, but there's just nothing there. Granted, Tituki Splash was closed, but it just needs something else for such a beautiful area, especially in the winter months when its essentially just a walkthrough from Sesame place to Mediterrània or vice versa.

A quick look on maps and it looks like anything they do build in this area will have to be squeezed in, similar to Velocicoaster / Gotham City Escape which naturally means we'll get a pretty exciting custom layout.

Why remove it, just put a new darkride/simulator in that building.
I meant clear out the warehouse of the old tech, get rid of the old massive simulator in there, would be a great space for a coaster show building, the ride could go in and out of it, using the space behind the warehouse too.

And the old Steampunk/aquatic theme is still a pretty cool one, I’d love them to theme a coaster around it.

I always thought that the Polynesian area would be a good location for a flying coaster that soars between trees and over the water. At one point, I even drew up a Vekoma copy of Flying Dinosaur for this section, back when the Universal Europe rumours were pointing here rather than Bedford. I'm struggling a little to see a Stryker fit the area quite as well, but there's no doubt that Mack could create something special here.

Gotta feel for Baco if this does go ahead, though. It's bad enough that Red Force stole its fastest in Europe thunder, now it won't even be the only launched coaster with winged seating in that corner of the park!* Does make you wonder how long that ride has left, given it's approaching 20 years, and a lot of Hydraulic launch coasters are either closing or being converted to LSM now.

*Granted, a Stryker would still be a very different ride... but that didn't stop Helix from effectively replacing Kanonen... again, in a very differently run park a decade ago.. but still.

Unfortunately if you translate the comments on that post, they basically admit they've made it up and there is no source, it's merely something they'd like to happen.
Thought as much. The day that park implement any ride with any sort of throughput I'll eat my hat

Moved to News & Rumours until this is confirmed.

They don‘t have an issue with high capacity rides, they just don‘t like to operate the rides at capacities over 300pph. But in theory, they *could* do more.

The park is littered with people-eaters, though? Even Uncharted moves surprisingly quick when all three trains are in use. The problem is that they’re rarely operated to their potential.

Just because it has rides that CAN have good throughputs doesn't mean they've ever done so. With a park full of staff with a Mañana attitude it's never gonna work.
That park would be so much better with decent ops and more trains but alas that'll never happen
