Coasters you like more than most

Superman at Six Flags Great Adventure is my 2nd favourite ride in the world and is often maligned. Although that’s the only flying I’ve been on.

I absolutely LOVE Hollywood Dream and Eurosat Cancan for the same indescribable reason. They just hit a happy spot in my brain and I've got no idea what about them does that or why. I've got them ranked #40 and #52 out of 526 respectively.

My coaster buddy always gives me a lot of crap for my love for Joris en de Draak at Efteling. The Water side is in my top 10 (out of around 70 coasters). I have it above rides like Ride to Happiness (just not my kinda ride, and we rode it on a rainsoaked day in freezing temps in January which definitely didn't help lol), Shambala and Kondaa. However with Kondaa, I wasn't really a true thoosie when I rode it so the plan is to get back to that this year, and I expect it to shoot up in my rankings quite a bit.

I just REALLY love Joris en de Draak. For me, it's a perfect blend between airtime, speed, laterals and rerideability. And I always enjoy dueling coasters, it really enhances the sense of speed. Add to that the theme and the music (!), and it's an allround 10/10 for me. Go on, bash me for it😜

Loup Garou (Walibi). I don't understand the hate, sure it's a bit rattley but not painful. Air time, a bit out of control, always puts a smile on my face. It's not that I think it's great per se, but I enjoy it and lots of people seem to hate it.

Heidi (Plopsaland). My favourite ride at the park. Not rough, plenty of air, great banked turns, feels relentless. Just a lot of fun. For me it's just more enjoyable than RTH, but it doesn't really get any recognition.

Gold Rush at Drayton Manor. It's definitely a family coaster, but it's also a family Intamin coaster, so it has those whippy moments on a much smaller and gentler scale. Plus you've got two settings which adds a ton of variety. I enjoyed it more than the The Wave (post conversion) and even had a brief chat with a couple behind me who claimed they almost enjoyed it more than Nemesis!

I have to say Big Apple Coaster at NYNY Hotel and Casino. I know it is made by TOGO, who are known to give us crappy rides, but Honestly? If you give this ride the chance, It's actually pretty fun! The transitions are not as bad as people say, the nostalgia of being my first hyper coaster (I will die on the hill that it doesn't care, it just needs to have a point that drops to, or reaches above, 200 feet to count as a hyper) and a surprise from my family, who was originally just gonna go to Magic Mountain. It was an amazing ride, and was in my top 10 when I rode it, but only stayed for a few days, since Magic Mountain was a few days after.
