Here are a few that come to mind:
The first drop on Skull Mountain at SFGAdv, which gives a surprisingly strong pop of air in the back row
The pretzel loop on the Superman: Ultimate Flight clones
The loop on Sooperdooperlooper at Hersheypark- although the rest of the ride would be awesome if...
Yeah, I do recognize that issue. Unfortunately, it does come with the territory of trying to narrow the ballot down to a manageable number- but I think it's a necessary step to ensure that this poll isn't too difficult to participate in, nor is it too difficult to administer. However, I assure...
Thank you! There are less wooden coasters in the world, hence the lower number of nominees you're allowed.
You make a decent point. The idea behind the nomination process is to narrow it down a bit, so we don't have something win because the one and only rider put it as #1, but I definitely...
Hey guys!
I've decided to create a new coaster poll that can perhaps act as a successor to the Mitch Hawker poll.
For the first stage, I'm going to accept nominations. You may nominate up to 15 steel coasters, as well as 10 wooden ones. I will use this data to create a ballot, likely...
From "best" to worst:
10. Viper (Six Flags Magic Mountain): Not awful, but I didn't really find it to be that enjoyable either. I'm willing to give it another shot next time I go to SFMM, because I do seem to be a bit below the consensus. (4/10)
9. River King Mine Train (Six Flags St. Louis)...
Here are mine. I'll list these chronologically:
1. Alpengeist
2. Apollo's Chariot
3. Incredible Hulk
4/5. Dueling Dragons (can't remember the order)
6. Kraken
7. Griffon
8. Manta
9. Batman: The Ride (SFGAdv)
10. Superman: Ultimate Flight (SFGAdv)
11. Talon
12. Hydra
13. Batman: The Dark Knight...
This is mine, and I have my ratings for the coasters in parenthesis for context)
1. Montu (9.5/10)
2. Alpengeist (9/10)
3. Banshee (9/10)
4. DD Fire (9/10)
5. Talon (8.5/10)
6. Batman Clones (8.5/10)
7. Raptor (8.5/10)
8. Great Bear (8/10)
9. DD Ice (8/10)
I actually agree with OP's thoughts entirely. Epcot was the first park to come to mind for me, and Kentucky Kingdom came to mind for different reasons.
At Epcot, Future World has been in a deteriorating state for some time now. I will say that those Soarin' improvements were needed, but I'll...
T3 at Kentucky Kingdom is probably at the top of my guilty pleasure list. It's still rough, but the new trains eliminate the headbanging element. I also don't hate SLCs as much as most people seem to.
Complacent is the word you're looking for. I agree with you though, Disney really needs to do something about WDW. Universal and SeaWorld have been upping their games, and Disney has just been letting the cash roll in. The wait times on the attractions at Epcot and DHS (particularly Soarin' and...
