Proposing Bakuna-watata as a nickname.
Bakuna-watata
What a wonderful name
Bakuna-watata
It looks quite insane
It mean no floors
Launching and spinning your brain
It's our purple beast
From the far East
Bakuna-watata
I'll be sad to see
I was thinking exactly the same thing! - although maybe it needs to be sold to a couple of other places and transported around the world a bit first
I'm a bit torn at the moment as to whether to go back for more rides. I had my fill last Wednesday night, riding til my legs...
According to coaster-count it's currently at Southwick Family Funfair, but today is the last day. There's also at least 2 of these on the french funfair scene.
I hired a car and wouldn't recommend it. Driving in Saudi in unpleasant to say the least, and I have over 20 years driving experience.
There is no courtesy, no one indicates, if you indicate people intentionally move to block you, people drift across lanes and roads have very poorly marked...
On wednesday it was awful, 60+ min posted time for most of the coasters and often longer than that. Operations were ok, apart from colossus, the queue line of which just about broke me. 3.5-5 minute dispatches seemed to be the norm and they kept fast pass a walk on despite a massive standby...
Sirocco tower just soft opened! And I rode it.
Only running two sides so expect long lines with quite a long cycle and only 16 people per cycle.
And it was underwhelming
The launch is fun, but is more like a sustained push rather than a big blast off. It's kind of similar to mystery castle...
Currently it seems to be open for employees, the guy at the gate said they're hoping to open it for guests later.
-Edit-
It seems to have soft opened, but only two of the sides. I should be in the next group to ride
Well, I've booked a trip for January. I was originally going to spend 2 days in UAE on the way out and one day on the way back for Ferrari world, motiongate etc, but it actually seems impossible to book that combination with Etihad as it just kept saying the flights were unavailable when trying...
It actually seems like quite a sensible transition. The areas already covered by the park are mostly ones that are also covered in asterix books or could easily be converted to similar ones. It's a long way off the quality of the French park, but here's hoping it'll one day get near that standard.
Is there anything else worth riding nearby? seems like a bunch of kiddy creds in shopping malls, and a skyrocket 2, is there anything actually decent? Would it be easy to visit the park via public transport or is renting a car the best way?
