I am going to guess that although the ride is cleared above ground, those KK footers are still in the ground, and there's a lot of them and they're probably huge. So as opposed to having to pay to demo the footers and have them removed, they just shifted the install to avoid them altogether.

You know, I was thinking with all these dive coasters and the long flat straight track/turns they have at the top between the lift and drop...it would be cool if they switched it up and did an outer bank up there. Imagine slowly tilting off to the side 30 or 45 degrees when you're 300 feet up...
